Contact Work
Young Hope’s mandate is to connect with young people in their world, taking the first step to be in their daily environment and help meet their needs.
Because kids don’t care how much you know till they know how much you care, our leaders volunteer hundreds of hours by spending time with teenagers, meeting them as they are, believing in who they can be. Within Young Hope we call the persistent going out into the world of kids “contact work,” but kids just call it friendship.
At Young Hope we care about youth. Our staff and volunteers enter the world of teens, focusing on what matters to them – fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we believes matters most of all – the truth about God and His love for them.
Young Hope is making a difference in the lives of teenagers because we are supported by adults who care about teens in their community.
Our staff and volunteer leaders are trained in time-tested methods of relating to youth.
Our volunteers are men and women from your community who demonstrate integrity, commitment to the our vision, and the ability to connect with young people.
Many of them have had a positive adult role-model in their life, and are now committed to building up the next generation.
All of our volunteers are carefully screened, continually trained and supervised by our organisation.
